I love soy and eat lots of soy products eg. soy bean milk, tofufa and tofu. However I have not had soy beans on its own so this dish was quite interesting for me. After being braised, it doesn’t have that strong beany taste compared to tofu of soy bean milk.


So I thought that I will introduce it during a dinner party plus it is a good protein substitute in keeping with a plant based diet.

This time around, I made it too sweet and salty so I added water and rinsed it out. Recipe here. I omitted garlic as I like it plain. Steps are to soak soy bean overnight, boil soy bean, add seasonings then boil till try.


Just a small quantity e.g. 100g of dried soy bean goes a long way.
