The usual recipe for black sesame soup includes blended sesame seed, soaked rice and water together and cook it together.

I wanted to adjust the consistency and quantity myself as I did not want one that was too thick and black. So I used rice flour and grinded black sesame seed into powder first.


Plain Tangyuan

Ingredients: glutinous rice flour, water

Glutinous Rice Flour Dough

1. Make a dough with glutinous rice flour and water.

Uncooked tangyuan
Cooked (floating) tang yuan

3. Scoop up when it floats (cooked) and soak it in cool water.


Black sesame soup

Ingredients: sugar, water, black sesame seed, rice flour

Method

1. Toast sesame seed

2. When sesame seed has cooled down, ground sesame seed

3. Put aside ground sesame seed

4. Mix some rice flour,  ground sesame seed, sugar and water and heat it up

5. Adjust desired consistency by adding rice flour with tablespoons of water and ground sesame seed

Then add the black sesame soup into into the tang yuan.
